What i mean by this is that you need to know about the education and training, job skills ,talents and experience, the earnings, the benefits, the employment, and finally about a typical day.
To begin with which is more important is that you need to know about the education and about the training. You will need a high school diploma or a GED that will be required for some personal appearance workers in some states. Another thing that you will need is to complete a program in cosmetology school. The number of years you need to become a cosmetologist will depend on the way a person completes the cosmetology program. One way is to graduate from a cosmetology school. This can take from 10 months to 18 months to complete, depending on the path taken and whether the a person studies part or full-time. All in all this is all you need to know about the education and the training for cosmetology.
Another thing that you need to know about cosmetology is about the job skills, talents and training experience. What i mean by this is that in addition to meeting education and certification requirements. cosmetologists need to be knowledgeable about fashion and beauty trends. Normally you can gain experience as an assistant at a salon, when you obtain a cosmetology license then you can either work at the salon and try to build up. There is one thing you should totally keep in mind. That is that you should always maintain your character happy. Don’t ever be mad with your clients that you get.
Furthermore you will also need to know about the earnings in cosmetology. The average salary ranged from $7.55 to $10.30 dollars per hour. Over time wages ranged from $10.08 to $14.31 per hour.When people see that you keep your promises, they will develop a loyalty to you and your business that will result in repeat sales. Beauty school costs vary depending on the school, location and courses. Small or private beauty schools typically cost more.
Another thing that your should know about cosmetology is about the benefit factors. In a cosmetology job the benefits entirely depend upon who the employer is. Many places provide no benefits but in some they do.The cosmetologist always has to be on the look out for bacterial and fungal infections, which can spread from the client to the cosmetologist or the other way around. Keeping one's hands clean and sanitized is imperative. Cosmetologists should examine a client's nails or hair closely before beginning work. If the client has an abrasion or cut and it is infected, cross contamination can occur when the cosmetologist comes into contact with the area. Another benefit you get for being a cosmetologist is that you get on learn everything you do and then you are able to do it on yourself. For example the hair, the waxing, pedicure, nails, and more!
Last but not least you also need to know about the employment. The overall employment of barbers, cosmetologists, and other personal appearance is projected to grow slightly faster than the average for all occupations. Opportunities for entry level workers should be favorable while, candidates at high-end establishments will face keen competition. Employment of cosmetologist should increase by 12 percent because many now cut- in style both men and women.In addition, over the next 10 years barbers, cosmetologists, and other personal appearance workers will be one of the fastest growing occupations. They should experience a 12.4% rate of growing during this time period.
Finally you will need to know about a typical day at work!:). Depending on the salon or establishment a typical day may begin with setting up the tools you’ll use for the day. Many cosmetologists, especially those who work in several salons, maintain their own kit of hair dryers, irons, brushes, even an assortment of   dyes. You’ll need to follow all the policies on sanitation and disinfection for your tools throughout the day to ensure your clients, (and your own) safety.Any job which is done on a per client basis can have flexible hours. As an independent or self-employed person and depending on the individual the work may represent only a few hours per week or more than 12 hours a day. If a cosmetologist works for salon as an employee, the hours may be set on daily or weekly basis- again ranging from a a few to 40 or more hours a week.Working with your clients' hair and makeup can be exciting. First, you're helping them to look their best. Second, you may let your creative spark show as you try new and provocative styles. The most challenging thing for a cosmetologist to do is making colored gray hair look natural is a challenge for cosmetologists.
